Ichikei’s Crow – The Criminal Court Judges

The protagonist of this story is Michio Iruma, an unorthodox criminal court judge who takes it upon himself to verify crime scenes, to uncover the truth of incidences, in order to ensure that there are absolutely no false accusations. With a beard and casual clothes, there’s this sense of a laid back atmosphere about him, often speaking out in a slow manner. He is far from the image of an uptight judge, but a unique one feared by both lawyers and prosecutors for his free observation and an inquisitive mind, that is free from any ties, prejudices, or preconceptions. On the other hand, for criminal court judges usually in charge of around 250 cases at any given time, one of their major missions is to handle cases quickly and efficiently. So, the members around him are always puzzled by Michio, who digs deeper into cases at his own pace, almost as if none of this affects him. In fact, Michio has a unique background as a former lawyer.

It's the year 2020, and just as the entire nation of Japan finishes playing host to the Tokyo Olympic games, the economy suddenly spirals downward at breakneck speed. Inflation soars, public safety crumbles, and the federal government finds itself on the verge of insolvency, rapidly transforming the national economy into one big underground labor camp.
Kaiji is the epitome of a life turned ring. Treated like dirt, he makes do with a salary handed to him in a thin envelope. Struggling to decide whether he should spend his money on a beer, now rising to 1,000 yen per can, he is gradually filling with rage.
Then he discovers that his former underground labor camp boss, Otsuki, who made a name for himself through an illegal gambling ring, has now risen to President of the powerful Teiai conglomerate. Otsuki induces Kaiji to take part in the "Tower of Babel," a game of luck invented as a diversion for cash-flush old tycoons, who give hope to the weak and destitute with a chance to get rich overnight.
The wheels of fortune start to turn again for a born gambler like Kaiji. But is the future that awaits him to become a paradise or another form of hell? Tune in to the gambling show of the century as it returns to mesmerize a nation.

It's the spring of 2009, and Hanamura Construction, the largest general construction firm in Japan, is holding its annual welcome ceremony for its new grads. Sakura stands out from the rest of the talented bunch for clearly being a country bumpkin. Hailing from a small remote island up north, she came to Tokyo alone and has no qualms about sharing her dream of building a bridge to her home town.
During the training program for new employees that eventually determines which department they'll be assigned to, Sakura sees how out of line the company president is. "Obedience without questions" does not come naturally to her, and her true colors land her in an unthinkable situation. Sakura's corporate career track begins to crack.

12人の死にたい子供たち
12 teenagers show up at an abandoned hospital. As prescribed, they enter the building, open safe containing, take one of numbered tags from 1 to 12, and head to a "designated place". None of them have ever met before, but all of them in despair with their lives and come up with one common goal: to euthanize themselves. But upon arrival in the room, they find that one young man is already occupying on one of the 12 prepared beds.
Who is he? Was it a suicide? Was it murder? Should they proceed anyway? And is there a murderer amongst them?
According to the preset rules of the gathering, the members must take a vote and unanimously agree to proceed. But the unexpected turn of events compels them to hold a discussion and assess each other to solve the mystery before they can go ahead with their original plan.
In the process, however, the reasons for each of them choosing to die come to light, leading to a final decision. The question is: What is the real purpose of the gathering?

이 마을에 사는 고등학생 히가시카타 죠스케. 겉보기엔 불량스럽지만 마음씨 착한 성격의 소유자. 그는 스탠드라 불리는 특수능력을 가지고 있다. 죠스케의 스탠드는 만지기만 하면 타인의 상처나 부서진 것들을 고치는 것이다. 일련의 사건이 다른 스탠드를 사용하는 자들의 소행임을 알게 된 죠스케는 사랑하는 마을을 지키기 위해 일어선다.
